What is implant dental treatment?
The dental implant is generally offered to patients with one or more teeth extracted. It makes it possible to regain a chewing function, better daily comfort and dental aesthetics. Fixed in the jawbone, the dental implant is an artificial root - generally made of titanium - intended to replace 1 or more missing teeth by fusing with the bone tissue to serve as a natural tooth root. The procedure is performed in several stages by a dental surgeon and is usually performed under local anesthesia. For more anxious patients, the procedure with conscious sedation can also be applied.

The treatment is made up of two distinct stages
1) The surgical phase: Placement of the implant and use of bone and soft tissue grafts as needed.
2) The prosthetic phase: Manufacture of one or more teeth
A first trip of 2/3 days maximum is sufficient to carry out the scanner and the placement of implants. Then you will have to wait for complete osseointegration (healing period), which lasts about 4 months. The exact time will be indicated to you by the stomatologist. If appropriate, a fixed or removable temporary prosthesis, depending on the case, is offered to you for this waiting period.
A second trip is necessary for the placement of the implant abutment. The dentist will take the impressions and send them to the laboratory for the manufacture of dental prostheses. The second trip usually takes 5 to 8 days depending on the number of dental crowns to be done.
The success of implants is obviously linked to several factors such as the patient's health, smoking, taking certain medications, the condition of the patient's mouth, and the size and density of the jaws.
